Is it me, or wouldn't it be great to have cursor keys on a tablet or smartphone keyboard? You know, the keys that you have on a physical computer keyboard to move the text cursor left, right, up or down. I struggle putting the text cursor in the right place on my tablet using my finger. Whatever I do, it's always one or two characters out, even when I zoom in. So if I could tap with my finger, then use the cursor keys to get to the correct place, it would be a huge timesaver... or maybe it's just me.
Science-fiction has always interested me, and I have written science-fiction stories since my teenage years. Recently I have taken to writing a type of science-fiction that is based on a more realistic view of the future, rather than the usual, more fantastic novels. Kickstarter anyone...?
I have been thinking about starting a Kickstarter project for my book, but I am not certain if that's the best way forward. I like the idea of self-publishing, but I don't have the skills of an editor, illustrator or publisher. So I would some support to pay for these skills, which is where Kickstarter comes in.
However, what can I offer supporters in return? A copy of the book? As parperback or PDF? Give people the chance to have their name listed in the front? What else can I offer? And would you support the project?
